Summary: Very friendly and caring host, cooling welcome drink, tasty breakfast, clean and spacious room. Host provided recommendations about activities and location of a very nice beach. Idea for improvement: mosquito protection (we got bitten a lot during the night)

Summary: Casa Frank is a great choice if you’re staying in Playa Larga. It’s located right next to the bus station and a small cluster of shops, bars, and restaurants, and it’s ten minutes walk from Caletón with its beachfront restaurants. Our room was great, with comfortable beds and lots of space and two patios we could sit out on for drinks and some cards. Breakfast was $5 each and was incredible. The property has a swimming pool and jacuzzi but these currently aren’t operational - perfectly fair as they weren’t in the listing when we booked, but I imagine if these are brought back into use Casa Frank will be even better! There’s also a generator in case of electricity cutting out, which is handy. Our only minor issue was that our host only had very limited English, but a translator was easy to get hold of for explaining trips etc we could book. Still, given English is listed as a host language we were a little surprised.

Summary: Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Location is great, right near the square with a few local food stalls and close to Playa Larga - about ten minutes by foot. The breakfast (5 USD pp) is huge! It filled us for the day and helped massively with ensuring we kept to our budget. The ladies were all very friendly and accommodating.

Summary: The highlight of this casa are the staff who are super friendly and helped organise tours. However, the casa itself is in a bit of no man’s land, it’s not near and dining options, nor the beach. The while both are walkable, there are so many options nearer the main town and beach that offer the same price. The only benefit of being further out would be being quiet, however the bar next door plays such loud music which many guests complained about. The rooms are basic, and the doors and windows don’t do much for soundproofing. The amenities listed make it sound appealing but unfortunately it just didn’t match up.

Summary: we really enjoyed our stay with the family.they made us very welcome .breakfast was excellent.they arranged tours for us,which made our life easy.the room was large and we had the choice of two.we picked the top one which unfortunately, had low water pressure in the shower ,but hey so what.a friendly and helpfull family

Summary: Casa Frank staff were always available and ready to help us. They even helped us book local tours and made a wonderful Torta for my wife's birthday celebration. Our room was newly renovared and had AC. The WIFI was bonus since our phone plans had hefty data fees. The schweinbucht beach had fine white sand and was shallow, warm and deserted during the weekdays until a few locals came late in the afternoon. The Zapata National park is pristine and the coral reefs are fantastic with many young immature fish. Cuba is a poor country so the local area is depressed and is backward in many ways, but Casa Frank is a comfortable place to stay and i know Casa Frank will do everything in their power to help you have an enjoyable vacation.
